As the novel coronavirus rages globally, strategies adopted by China in the COVID-19 prevention and control can be used as a reference point for other countries to combat the pandemic as the measures have stood the test, said Chinese officials during a State Council press conference on Thursday in Beijing.

Zeng Yixin, deputy director of the National Health Commission (NHC), said China's experience can be summarized from the following perspective.

China sticks to the principle of putting people's lives first; establishing a high-efficient commanding mechanism; abiding by laws, science and the pursuit of accuracy; putting the strategies into solid practice, including bringing families, communities and work units into full play, pooling national resources and exercising a transparent approach while proactively communicating with the international community, Zeng said.

In terms of specific treatment methods, China had held more than 20 video conferences with experts from over 110 countries and regions to share experiences on fighting the COVID19 pandemic. It has also shared its COVID-19 diagnosis, treatment plans, and testing technologies with 180 countries and regions as well as over 10 international and regional organizations, according to information released during the press conference.

Chinese officials stressed the importance of cooperation while highlighting China's experience.

Xu Nanping, vice minister of science and technology, noted this is not the time to summarize Chinese experience as the battle is not yet over. "This is a global crisis, which needs global efforts, joint researches, and shared research findings."
